Hi there gentle readers.
The Shops has its own Mesh body that has been out for awhile as part of their ‘Mesh Project’ as well as feet & hands. With the touch of a button in your Style Mode HUD(free), you can change your Mesh Project items to any skintone you have purchased from The Shops. The best part? The Body(Beta), Hands(Beta) & Feet(Beta) are free. No you didn’t read that last part wrong, free.
What I like about the Body
I think The Shops body is pretty amazing looking. It conforms to your shape with full editing capability and my favorite part? The boobs. Ahhh my breasts look killer in this Mesh body. Perfectly smooth and supple. The rest is just as smooth, with no imperfections. It’s still in Beta, so theres not many options for it on the HUD but under the ‘Styles’ button you can wear underwear(as shown above), show or hid your nipples/vaginal area and apply skin tones you have already purchased at The Shops. Clicking the “Modify” button takes you to two neck options; Fitted Neck or Retrofit Neck. For this post, im using Retrofit.
What I don’t like about the Body
Unlike the SLink Physique, which comes with an Alphas HUD to block out parts of your body for non fitted mesh, The Shops relies solely on fitted mesh products. This means all those clothing items that don’t have fitted mesh capability will not be able to be worn with it. This totally bummed me out, but its still in Beta so the next version could(& should) come with one.
I have to say I really do like the hands. They have 5 current poses: Natural, Relaxed, Clutch, Handle & Hold. They fit nicely with the Mesh body and contour to how you change your shape.
When I first put them on I noticed they looked extremely tiny, like babies feet. They have to be increased to 40 or a little below(mine are 20). I like them but I have so many shoes made for SLink feet that I am just not about to use these which sucks because The Shops has never released Appliers for SLink items. Which in a way I understand, they are trying to sell their own body, hands and feet but it would be nice to use their skin tones for items, like feet, for those of us that have dropped lots of L’s on shoes made for SLink feet and don’t want to stop wearing them.
Overall I think both the SLink Physique & The Shops Mesh Project bodies are wonderful and are worth the try. Each have their strengths and weaknesses, but both are currently in their early stages so improvements are sure to come.
